Human Trafficking Convening:

This semester I volunteered at the Human Trafficking Convening. It was an event that spread awareness of child labor traffickers and sex traffickers. Many people are not aware that women, men, and children are held captive and are forced to work or forced into prostitution. This is happening right here in the United States. It isn't only a problem of foreign countries, it is a problem in our own country. It is up to us to continue to bring this issue to light and to help put a stop to this horrific crime. We need to be the voice of those who are unable to speak for themselves.

FIU Students In Need

Giving to my fellow students is something has greatly touched my heart. Many of our very own FIU student body are homeless. They live in their cars or find places to sleep on campus while trying to make a better life for themselves by attending classes. I collected canned goods, cereals, and other non-perishables to provide to students in need. Knowing I helped provide food for them warms my heart.
